Playing for Coach K was demanding, but his work ethic was something you respected right away. I’d been around driven people all my life, and Coach was another guy who never rested on his laurels or thought about what he accomplished yesterday. He got after it every day, whether it was breaking down film or even getting into the gym to lift. He was a 60-year old grandfather bench pressing with the players. I also appreciated his message to every team that the season was about us. He’d say that this is about “your moment” and no matter how many championships he’d won, he was always about us and our moment and was willing to sacrifice anything for us.
