Mason Plumlee stays active by helping others as he awaits the NBA’s return

By Kendra Andrews, The Athletic

Mason Plumlee got a slew of advice from players such as Kevin Garnett and Andrei Kirilenko when he was a rookie with the Brooklyn Nets.

Make sure you can acknowledge what mistakes you made and learn from them.

Learn who is on your team and don’t be afraid to seek advice from them.

Size up the risk at hand and take it if you are confident.

It wasn’t advice for basketball, although they gave him a ton of information on that, too. It was advice on making investments.

Since then, Plumlee has been an active investor in startup companies across the country. And now, he’s paying the education he received forward through Facebook with his “Founder Series with Mason Plumlee,” an online interview series that features founders of the companies he’s investing in along with others trying to start their own businesses.
