Dubai Summer Camp

We had kids from Egypt, Serbia, Morocco, the Philippines, Colombia, India and Algeria just to name a few. I was grateful that they wanted to be there, and humbled that their parents were willing to make it possible for them to attend.

K Academy

K Academy is like a reunion for former Duke players and fantasy camp for everyone else. I appreciate that Coach K does this because we’ll never have a homecoming or reunion that everyone can attend.

London

I just returned from London where my good friend Ben Levine helped open up a hotel in Shoreditch called The Curtain. We went for the official opening (which included a Giggs performace) and had an absolute blast.

Playoffs

I have Cleveland coming out of the East and Golden State out of the West. Anybody feel different? It’s an advantage when you can sweep a team and just be chilling waiting on the next round with your next opponent going six or seven games.

All-Star Weekend

All-Star Weekend was a great break for me. I was actually glad to be traded before the break, most moves happen closer to the deadline. Things happen so fast with a trade, it gave me some time to delegate logistics and get organized.

Trade

Trades in the offseason are a lot easier to deal with (having done it both ways now), but I am ready for the team I’m joining and love the fact that we are in a playoff hunt.

Thank You, Portland

The last 24 hours have been a blur, but such is life in the NBA. One minute you’re in Portland, the next you’re in Denver. New city, new teammates, new coach, new places to explore and new people to meet. It all happens incredibly fast, there’s little time to pause and reflect.

San Francisco

I had a cool three-day stay in San Francisco. I don’t care for the Warriors, but I do love the Bay Area.I watched a couple episodes of Silicon Valley on the flight down so I could better appreciate the innovation and brilliance surrounding me when we touched down…actually pretty surprised how far Pied Piper has come — I walked by the new HQ on Market Street……

Chicago & Milwaukee

I love going on the road in the NBA. Being in the Western Conference we only visit the Eastern Conference teams once a year, so it’s a good time to reconnect with people I don’t get to see very often.

Blessings on Blessings

A New Year’s tradition that I picked up last year is to recap the calendar year by highlighting things I’m grateful for. Sometimes you feel like you’re not making progress or nothing exciting is going on, but you won’t feel that way when you start writing down what you appreciate.
